JOHNETTE CHAMPAGNE
Founder & Owner
Keller Williams Red Stick Partners
Johnette Champagne has spent nearly five decades in real estate and more than 25 years helping shape the growth, culture and presence of Keller Williams in Louisiana.
A native of Empire, Louisiana and a 1970 graduate of Louisiana State University, Johnette began her real estate career in 1978 and earned her Louisiana broker's license in 1992.
Founding Red Stick Partners
In 2000, Johnette founded Keller Williams Red Stick Partners in Baton Rouge. As Founder and Owner, she served for many years as the market center's Sponsoring Broker, including through 2025, while helping guide the company and its agents for more than two decades.
Johnette became known among agents not only for her knowledge and leadership, but for her remarkable ability to bring calm to difficult situations. When conversations became heated, she had a way of de-escalating them and getting people to find common ground. Her ability to bring cooler heads to the table could be so effective that agents would sometimes walk away asking, “How did you get that person to calm down?”
Growing Keller Williams in Louisiana
Her influence within Keller Williams extended far beyond Red Stick Partners. Johnette was an originator of multiple Keller Williams market centers and played a significant role in expanding the company's presence throughout the region. As a Regional Operating Principal, she helped open seven market centers. She later became Regional Director, where she helped open another four market centers, giving her a direct role in establishing and growing Keller Williams across Louisiana and the Gulf States.
A Culture of Caring
That commitment to people and culture became especially meaningful during some of Louisiana's most difficult moments. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Johnette was heavily involved in Keller Williams' efforts to support agents and families affected throughout the Gulf States. Keller Williams associates from across the country rallied around the region, providing assistance to those whose homes, businesses and lives had been disrupted. The response became a defining moment in the growth of KW Cares and a powerful example of the Keller Williams culture of caring that Johnette had worked to build throughout the region.
That same spirit was evident much closer to home following the historic flooding that devastated the Baton Rouge area in 2016. One of the moments Johnette has been particularly proud of was watching the Red Stick Partners community come together and show up for people affected by the floods. For her, it was another example of what a market center and its people could mean to one another and to the community when they were needed most.
A Lasting Legacy
Throughout her years as an owner and broker, Johnette remained connected to the people at the heart of the business. Generations of agents have walked through the doors of Red Stick Partners during her leadership—some beginning new careers, others building teams and businesses, and many eventually becoming leaders and mentors themselves.
Today, the impact of what Johnette began in 2000 remains part of who we are at Red Stick Partners. It can be seen in agents helping one another, leaders investing in the development of others, an emphasis on education and growth, and the belief that a real estate brokerage can be both a place to build a successful business and a community to belong to.
Johnette's legacy is larger than the company she founded or any title she has held. It lives in the market centers she helped establish, the growth of Keller Williams throughout Louisiana, and especially in the people who have built careers, businesses, friendships and lives within Red Stick Partners—and in the culture they continue to pass along to the agents who come next.
